Getting Started

How do you start getting the daily email lessons?

ASL Daily Email is an optional resource included with the ASL Bundle For Beginners.

I recently moved the ASL Bundle For Beginners to a new platform.

In the new platform, you can access a contact form to opt in and start the daily email lessons.

How will ASL Daily Email For Beginners help you?

ASL Daily Email For Beginners is designed to compliment my online American Sign Language courses.

Let’s be blunt. If you plan to learn American Sign Language ONLY using online courses, it's very likely that your busy schedule will eventually interfere and inhibit consistent progress. It's a reality for most ASL students.

Life just happens. This is why I created ASL Daily Email For Beginners.

Email lessons are simple. Email lessons are quick. Email lessons are convenient. Email lessons can quickly be saved and filed away for future use. Email lessons can be accessed from anywhere.

Even with a busy schedule, ASL Daily Email guarantees quick wins and forward momentum in your ASL journey.

What is the 10-day cycle used in ASL Daily Email For Beginners?

• Day 1 Email - Question
• Day 2 Email - Response
• Day 3 Email - This or That
• Day 4 Email - Dialogue
• Day 5 Email - Question 4U
• Day 6 Email - Vocab Quiz
• Day 7 Email - Inspiration
• Day 8 Email - Review Part 1: Signing
• Day 9 Email - Review Part 2: Understanding
• Day 10 Email - Recap of previous 9 days

Is there a mix of signing and fingerspelling in the 10-day cycle?

Yes. Signing days and fingerspelling days are both included in the 10-day cycle.

• Days 1, 2, 4, and 6 focus on improving ASL signing skills and understanding skills.
• Days 3, 5, 7 focus on ASL fingerspelling recognition exercises and fingerspelling practice.
• Days 8 is for Review Part 1: Signing.
• Days 9 is for Review Part 2: Understanding.
• Day 10 is a recap of what’s been covered in Days 1-9.

What happens after a 10-day cycle is finished?

An automatic rest period is built in. The emails will stop for a few days before the next cycle begins.

Why is there a rest period between the 10-day cycles?

A short break allows students to review the most recent 10-day cycle of emails.

Students can also organize the emails, declutter their inbox, and prepare for the next 10-day cycle.

Which email address will be used for the ASL Daily Email lessons?

I will use the same email address that you used to sign up for the ASL Bundle For Beginners.

If you change your mind, can you stop ASL Daily Email?

Yes. If you no longer want to receive ASL Daily Email, simply click the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any ASL Daily Email. No more ASL Daily Emails will be sent to you.

Keep in mind, clicking "unsubscribe" in an email only stops the daily emails. It does NOT cancel your membership or access to the ASL Bundle For Beginners.

What happens if you cancel your subscription to the ASL Bundle For Beginners?

You will stop receiving ASL Daily Email after the timeframe you paid for expires.

If you cancel your membership midway through the month, you’ll still get ASL Daily Emails throughout the full month you paid for.

What if you made a one-time purchase for the ASL Bundle For Beginners?

No worries. You continue to get the ASL Daily Email without worrying about expiration.

What should you do with all of ASL Daily Email lessons so they don't clutter up your inbox?

I recommend creating a special, dedicated folder where you can save ASL Daily Email.

You could name the folder "ASL Daily Email" and move the ASL Daily Emails into this folder to declutter your inbox.

This way, you can access the content from one folder. You'll also be able to search through the emails and find specific signs and/or sentences.

Why don’t the images immediately appear when I open the email? Why are the images sometimes glitchy at first?

The images will load quickly or slowly depending on your internet connection. If everything doesn’t load right away, just wait a few moments.

Another option is to close the email, go back to your inbox, and reopen the email. Pause and let it fully load.

Changing your internet network or using a desktop email client may help as well.

Can Able Lingo resend ASL Daily Emails if you accidentally lose or misplace them?

No. It’s your responsibility to keep track of and organize the email lessons.

Can you reply to the emails with feedback, questions, comments, etc?

Sure! I encourage students to share their thoughts and ask questions.

If you have ideas for improvement or just want to share your experience, I'd love to hear from you!

Can you pause ASL Daily Emails?

No. The emails are automated.

The emails will continue until: 1) You unsubscribe from the emails, or 2) You are no longer an active member of the ASL Bundle For Beginners

** Suggestion: If you don't have time to go through the emails at the moment, file them away in a special "ASL Daily Email" folder. They won't take up space in your inbox and you can return to them at your convenience.

Can you change the ASL Daily Emails to every other day or once a week?

No. ASL Daily Email is designed to be a daily boost to students’ sign language journey. It's an automated email sequence.

Can you stop ASL Daily Email? Can you unsubscribe?

Yes. Just click the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email.

What if you find an error or something isn’t working in the emails?

Reply to the email and let me know!

I LOVE getting feedback especially if something is broken or if (gulp) I made a mistake somewhere.

Screenshots are pure gold (hint hint). I'll fix the issue as quickly as possible.

Keep in mind that you’ll also be helping all of the other students as well by pointing out any errors.
