WE DIVIDE the one-hundred and fifty (150) pairs into manageable groups of ten (10) pairs. Each pair of signs has its own video lesson.
** Watch the videos above.
FIRST, I’ll show you the signs together. Next, you’ll learn handshape, hand position, and hand motion for each sign individually. We’ll bring the signs back together to compare and contrast them. This includes extra practice repeating the signs back to back to back in order to cement everything in your brain.

Another great ASL course! This one taught me some new signs. It also reinforced and helped me become more accurate with already learned signs. Also, I find it easier to remember a sign when it is compared and contrasted to another sign instead of presented by itself.

AFTER you’ve completed a group of ten (10) pairs of similar signs, we’ll review everything in that group. You’ll have the opportunity to sign the similar sign pair before I do. We’ll summarize what you’ve learned with additional practice to guarantee progress.
** Watch the video above.
FOLLOWING review, you’ll have two (2) part testing: 1) Signing, and 2) Understanding. Now, you’ll be tested on your ability to communicate and recognize the twenty (20) signs you just learned (10 pairs x 2 signs = 20 signs).
I really like how the instruction is showing you the signs from all sides. He is very positive and upbeat!

The videos are quick and easy to do, no matter where you are. I can have the volume off and still learn. The explanations are great and the repetitive style helps the information stick.

Hello! My name is Michael

When I was three years old, my younger brother became sick with spinal meningitis. In the process, my brother became deaf with an almost complete hearing loss. This difficult situation provided a unique opportunity for my family and I to become fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). My brother was not sent away to a deaf or hard of hearing school. He grew up with us, his hearing family, and we were active in the Deaf community.

As a former police officer and federal investigator, I often used ASL to communicate with and serve members of the Deaf community. I decided to create simple, step-by-step ASL courses because sign language is a useful and fun skill to have. Like learning any language, it opens your mind and creates the ability to communicate with a whole new group of people.
